Dolphin Swim - Freeport or Costa Maya

Does anyone know which Island offers the better program? We were hoping to do the dolphin swim in Cozumel, but Liberty is now going to Costa Maya.

I do not think Carnival offers the Dolphin Swim at either location, so this would have to be booked on our own, but I can not find out much information on which Island would be better. I have never booked excursions other then Carnival's before, so just wondering if anyone has done them and if they are safe? We are a bit nervous to go ahead and book on our own. We have two teenage daughter and they are not interested in the encounters, they want to swim with the dolphins. Any advise you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

We just completed our Dec. 18 cruise on the Liberty. I found a Dolphin

Swim on Freeport. Don't know of one in Costa Maya. Have done the

one in Cozumel, it is neat, but they say the Nat'l Park there is down

for several more months due to a hurricane.

Although I have not cruised to Freeport, I vacationed there a few years ago. I have been to Costa Maya on a cruise. The beach in Mexico is much nicer. If I had to choose, I would pick the dolphins the freeport because there is not much to do otherwise. We swam with the dolphins years ago on the Isla Mujeres -- it is wonderful. You will have a great time.
