nmsk5 Posted March 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2018 We will be docked in Dubrovnik from 1pm- 9pm on July 2. We are on the Star and will be the only ship in port. There is a ship excursion, Sea Kayaking on the Adriatic, that looks really cool, but it goes from 1:45 until 7pm. It include a motor boat ride, kayaking and swimming. That will not leave any time to experience the city of Dubrovnik. Has anyone done this excursion or have any thoughts on which way to go...walk or paddle? RJake1 Posted March 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2018 It depends. Dubrovnik is a very cool place. A lot to see...walking the wall, marketplace, etc. Personally I would have always wondered what I missed had I done something else. If you are a kayaker my experience is that you might be disappointed in the excursion because most of those are pretty tame due to the lack of experience many tourists have with kayaking. Not to mention that you're riding a motor boat and swimming, which suggests a good part of the day will be spent non-kayaking. Bottom line for me, and it's a personal decision, is first time I'm in a port I want to spend some time seeing it and experiencing it. I would not spend a whole day missing Dubrovnik. It's a beautiful place. Now, if we're half-day excursion which allowed time to walk around the town I would seriously consider it. But a full day excursion ...first time in an exotic port....not for me. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app
