Summergee Posted March 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2018 We are on 2 cruises b2b from Southampton later this year. If we decide to leave the ship and go to West Quay for shopping would we have to join the queue of people embarking the ship or would we be able to just through security and get back on board when we are ready? bluemarble Posted March 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2018 You may proceed directly to the security check point when returning to the ship. No need to join the queue of those checking in for the return cruise. If you have booked both cruises as a single voyage, the same ship id card should cover both cruises and allow you back on the ship. If you booked the cruises as two separate voyages, then you should receive a new ship id card to cover the second cruise while still on board before you leave the ship in Southampton. You would then scan off the ship using the card for the first cruise and scan back on the ship when reboarding later using the new card you were issued for the second cruise. At least that's my experience with a round trip crossing from New York with a turnaround day in Southampton.

Blue Marble has answered your query perfectly. I only wanted to say if you are walking to Westquay Shopping IMO it is about a 30-40 minute walk allowing for finding an entrance and getting in. By taxi it is about 10 minutes allowing for cruise day traffic. Last time it was about £5 to £6 each way. Bon voyage and happy shopping. http://www.west-quay.co.uk
