My latest addition has been to add a single-use tube (or two) of Krazy Glue to my first aid kit. Once a wound (NOT to deep or huge) is clean, it seals it better than any band-aid and lets you pretty much resume normal activity.

 

 

I carry that for when I am backpacking along with a small medkit. They have a brush on band-aid now. You brush it over the wound and it seals it. Looks like it easier to apply than a krazy glue applicator.
