reader5 Posted December 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2005 Need advice regarding transportation from ship to airport (approximate cost). Land or water taxi? Which is the best mode of transport (two ladies carting luggage?) Thanks for your anticipated advice.
Susan-M Posted December 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2005 This is a recent thread which might help: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=258366 Also, a link to the Venice Cruise Terminal website which provides info on transportation to the pier from the airport: http://www.vtp.it/pages/comeRaggiungerci/crociere.jsp?n=0 (if it comes up in Italian, click on the Union Jack.) wwinfl91 Posted December 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2005 To answer the question directly, you can catch a ground taxi at the cruise dock assuming your ship is at the major cruise port dock. If it is docked further down past St Marks there is no land access there. Land taxi will be much cheaper although less scenic than a water taxi. You might also look into just using the cruise line bus transportation which will allow you to put your luggage out the night before and then only see it aqain at the Venice airport. Have a great next cruise.
