Diamond Princess Japan Cruise Dress?

Going to be taking a Japan cruise in July and wondering....we've never done an Asian cruise before, and I see that the temperature is likely to be somewhere around 75 to 85 F, and this leads me to the question...(maybe a silly one)...would the expectations be to dress similarly to any other cruise? I realize that the bulk of passaengers are likely to be Japanese, Aussies, and New Zealanders, but I dont want to stick out like a dumb American....

Any suggestions?

Thanks

We did 20 nights on the Diamond with a lot of English speakers. Wear what you would normally wear on a summer cruise. Sure, on formal nights you'll see some kimono clad women.....on smart casual nights you'll all wear about the same things!

we just got off the Diamond Princess on 5/27. As mentioned above, on formal nites, there were some beautiful kimonos worn, as well as Tuxedos, suits and dresses as you would on other Princess cruises. Daily wear, no different from other cruises (Alaska, Caribbean, etc.). have fun

Thanks for your input. What are your thoughts on the ship and service?

We did the festivals cruise last July. It was AMAZING! Best cruise we have ever done, service superb and only 200 guests weren’t Japanese. The ship was very quiet after about 9pm as they all went to bed! The arrival and departure at the ports were always brilliant too. If you get the opportunity to watch the fireworks - they were the best we’d ever seen! So jealous of your trip, I’d go back tomorrow! The ship and staff were fantastic. Ship is a bit dated but well looked after and the staff and atmosphere more than make up for it!
