Carnival Beach Break - Costa Maya

Can anyone give a review of this excurison through Carnival. It seems from the website and this board that for $39 per person it includes transportation, use of the beach, etc., as well as open bar. Bus runs every 45 minutes and it's 5 hours long. What time does the first bus leave for the beach in the morning? What about prices of snacks, etc., for lunch? What about shade, specifically tiki huts? Is it worth the $39 per person? We're not big drinkers but would have a couple....I am imagining that the beach that is free is like Progresso which we were not really crazy over.

The area at the pier looks beautiful but assume it gets very crowded. There are two other ships in port but a Disney ship doesn't dock until after 10:30 a.m. Glory and RCI ships are 8 and 7 respectively so assume it will be packed that day.

Not really sure what we'll do at this point and time. Thought about doing the pier in the am and then back to the ship for lunch and then take the vans to the shopping village but then the excursion sounds pretty nice too???

It's okay. We booked it last minute at the port in Costa Maya, and paid $20 per person. They have paddle boats & kayaks to use. The water had a lot of seaweed, and I would not recommend it for snorkelling. They also have a small volleyball area.

Since you are not big drinkers-- you can head to Majahaul on your own.

Take a taxi which will cost 5 bucks per person round trip (3.00 getting there and 2 to get back) there is a bunch of places to each situated across the road from the beach.

We sat at Tappas bar beach. had a table with an umbrella right at the water. We had a waiter at our service all afternoon. We do not drink but did drink a few sodas. had lunch. for both of us it was under 10 bucks. we had a massage on the beach. Signs advertise 20 bucks. but if you wait til it slows up we got a 50 minute massage for 20 bucks.

Most people on the ships stay at the pier at Costa Maya or take excursions.

the beach break Carnival offers is for Uvera Beach-- which is supposedly private.
