Inspiration Muster Wheelchair ?

Hello,

Can anyone who has experienced the Muster Drill in a wheel chair on the Inspiration tell me if there is a special place where they go to get the info on the Drill as I am reading on the other board? I am getting conflicting answers on the DISABLED BOARD.

Please...No guesses or info from other ships. I know things are handled differently from ship to ship.

Thank you very much. :):):)

I’ve sailed her and the imagination several times and it has always been in the main show lounge. You will be there for the briefing and after everyone is taken to the life boats they will come talk to you about what to do in an emergency. I don’t think you will ever leave the lounge

Thank you very much. Do you know if they will have our group of 4 stay together in the lounge?

I was solo but I think the people accompanying the other special needs guests went outside. Luckily that part of the drill is very short; just taken out to show the location, roll call and it's over.

There are multiple muster stations on the ship.... they will announce where guests with special needs will need to go. I've seen guests with wheelchairs both in the muster station up on the Lido deck near the main stage and in the lounge mid-ship where they sing karaoke. When I previously cruised with my daughter who was in a wheelchair, they did allow our family to stay together; however, she was a minor at the time. There will be plenty of staff directing you where to go! Have a great cruise!

P.S. I will be on the Inspiration 2 times in the next 3 weeks and will check it out for you :):)

Just let guest services know your needs and they will direct. I don't know about your group but my wife sat with me. Ours was on the Lido deck and they had us to the side while everyone was lined up This was on the Inspiration. On the Victory they had us meet up in the main dining room.

I have not been on the inspiration but wanted to say too how accommodating both the port and carnival were at the beginning of this month. My husband hurt his back before we left and was in a lot of pain but on medication. Soon as we checked in at the port we told them we needed help. The port came with a wheelchair and escort and took me, my husband, son and niece that shared our cabin all the way through check in. They pushed my husband all the way through to the elevators on the ship. From the port to the door. They then suggested we talk with carnival about a wheelchair rental. We didn’t think we would need one but they could get us one. Long story short we ended up getting one about 4 days in at 50.00 deposit. Muster was easy, my husband was escorted to the seat with my brother in law and allowed to leave before everyone else once muster was over. At the end of the cruise, once we were ready to debark, a carnival rep came and got him, and stayed with us the entire time we were in the port. They only left him once we got thru customs and right at the door to the exit. We have never seen such accommodation, well wishes and prayers from people as we did that week. We were blown away at the kindness of every single person we encountered. He didn’t do as much as he liked because he was in pain but he was able to go to several shows and dinner each night, we just had to start out a little early to maneuver the crowds.

Thank you for sharing your story and prayers that your DH's back is better soon. We are going to try to avoid the crowds as best as we can.

Can you take wheel chairs into the dining room?

Yes you can take the wheelchairs into all of the venues. once in the dining room, he would switch to a chair and they would park the wheelchair out of the way.

I thought I remembered wheelchairs being lined up off to the side against the wall when you first enter the dining room.

Thank you for this info!
