I read a review of Ocho Rios that talks about a local open-air restaurant down the beach from Margaritaville. They say Lobster Dave will let you pick out your fresh fish or lobster and cook it in front of you. Anybody heard of it or been there??

Funny we post the same question (same title!) on the same day. I should have read the threads again before I sent me question. :p

I also wants to know about Lobster Dave, and what he charges for a lobster meal.

I read about him in a review on portreviews.com. If you like to step outside of the tourist box and check out the local scene, it sounds great! :) I'm curious if anybody else has been there.

Thanks for the info. I now have something to do when i get to Jaimaca. I will leave a report when i get back in Nov.. this may be the new discovery of the decade.

if anybody gets by there it would be nice to know how much money to bring as i'm sure he doesn't except visa.

The best I recall, we paid about $30 for 2 or 3 beers and two nice sized lobsters and the fixings. Dave also offered conch, fresh fish and Jerk chicken dinners. That was in 2005.

 

A real treat.

I've heard great things about Lobster Dave. But be sure to come to an agreement on a price with him before he cooks your meal, otherwise I hear he likes to take it to the limit ;)
