We were in Costa Maya not long ago. It is probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen. We went horseback riding. Carnival did not list this excursion. We booked it once at port. 3 adult @ $45 each and only $5 extra for DD if she road w/ me. Of coarse DH negotiated these prices ( actually all he said was he'd talk to me about it and they lowered the price). You can also rent golf carts,bikes and doombuggies (sp?). All people we encountered downtown were very nice and fun to talk to. I don't know how to post pictures but will e-mail some to you if you like. Also, there is a bar on the beach that had swings instead of stools, very cool. Had DD w/ us so we didn't stop. This area is not commercialized, which we thought added to the beauty. There are shops, salt water swimming pool and amplitheater all within walking distance of the pier.
