jkmmah Posted January 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2019 My husband and I would like to go for a 3-4 mile jog around the island on our afternoon in port. Would this be safe to do? Anything we should be extra wary of? Thank you.
Rare crewsweeper Posted January 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2019 Traffic. Roads are narrow and places have little shoulder. Get a good map of the island and look into the dirt roads the off road dune buggies use between the port and the airport and the south end of the island. Just watch out for the wild horses and donkeys poop. You'll be able to see the tops of the ships in port. There are small residential roads up north of Pillory Beach that can take you around the marsh are aan salt works. Another alternative is to do a beach run heading to your right out of the Dufry Store you need to pass through and going down to the point and up the other side. You may not want to run as far as the sand can be soft in some laces and it will be a bit taxing on your calfs but ocean air enjoyable.
