Vacation Insurance

my parents were once booked with another couple on a cruise w/ a different line (Princess, I think). The other gentleman had a minor heart attack about a month before the cruise. He is fine now (just went to his 70th birthday party last month), but he was unable to go on the cruise. They had the travel insurance and received refunds. My parents received the refunds, too, because they were part of the same reservation.

I think there may have been a deductible, but I'm not sure about that.

My sister and I were to go on a Caribbean cruise last April. Four days before we sailed, my brother-in-law had quadruple bypass surgery, so my sister couldn't cruise. I still went on the cruise solo and had a fabulous time! We had insurance with Travelex, so my sister called the phone number listed in the insurance info, and Travelex sent her the forms to file a claim. There was no deductible.
