Inaugural Cruise

I am currently booked on the "Inaugural Cruise" of the Sky Princess this October.  I was wondering if we can expect anything special, something different, since it's the Inaugural cruise?   I heard somewhere Princess used to give nice gifts to those on that cruise, but it's not true any longer.  Can any of you who have done Inaugural cruises shed some light?  Thanks! 🙂

Found it. This thread started with a question about the Sky Inaugural Trans Atlantic to Ft Lauderdale but there is a lot of info on the inaugural cruise etc.

Thanks for the link to the thread, but they are talking about the 1st trans-Atlantic cruise of the Sky, not what Princess has advertised as the "Inaugural Cruise" on Oct 20th.  I was wondering what those who have been on an advertised Inaugural cruise have experienced.

I sailed on the maiden voyage of the Sun Princess. We got to attend the naming ceremony. And lunch afterwards. We also received a small model of the ship.

Have you thought about calling Princess or your travel agent? Basing your expectations on what happened in the past on another ship with a different itinerary is sure to set you up for misplaced expectations. Just because "Joe Smith" cruise guest received A, B & C does not mean that is standard. It's a bit different than asking about suite perks which are standardized and published.
