Shuttle to Galveston port and priority boarding

We're staying at a place without a shuttle to Port (near the pier). What's the best (and easiest) way to get to the Carnival port? Uber? Taxi? 

 

Also, what time does Priority boarding begin?

With peak pricing , with Uber Lyft Taxi,  go real early or real late to avoid higher cost and availablity . Priority boarding is depending  on your tier and when ever you get there . But should be around 10:00 to 11:00 depending on when Carnival has cleared the ship .
