Vancouver Hotel for Disembarkation Day 8 am - 8 pm

Our upcoming cruise returns to Vancouver, BC, at 7 am and our flight home is 11 pm, so we are looking for a hotel for 8 am - 8 pm if such a thing exists, as a home base as we tour Vancouver.

If you check through other recent posts on this board, West Coast Departures, and Alaska, you'll find someone else just asked about Day Rooms and several folks have been asking about how to kill time until an evening flight. Trip reports also give examples of what others have done Pre/Post cruise.

 

Long story short - there are very limited options on the hotel front, and with such a short time available you need to do more of your own legwork as prioritization is key. Not knowing you and the folks you're traveling with (tastes, budget, mobility) it's impossible to say what the best things are to do for your group - really the only definite suggestion I can make is that time spent in a hotel room is time you could be actually out and about seeing things, so unless your party needs the downtime because one or more of you aren't physically capable of remaining awake and functional for the day, getting a hotel room is a very inefficient use of your very limited time.

 

TripAdvisor 'best of' listings provide an accurate representation of all popular sights in the area in terms of how much Joe Q Public enjoys them - there are hundreds or thousands of reviews, so it's safe to assume that even with the assorted fake and 'friend of the owner' reviews the overall picture is an accurate relative ranking. You should know if you are more of a 'culture vulture' than Joe Q is, or more of a garden lover, or a hater of museums etc. so you can trim the possiblities down an awful lot better than any of us can...
