shopping in St. Thomas?

Where's the best place to shop for jewlery and watches in St. Thomas? This will be the only island we're visiting that has any shopping, so we'd like to make the most of it. should we just stay right at the mall near port or venture off? we'd like to get in two hours of shopping and then head to a beach. I've read about Godfrey's tours..where does he take you shopping?

HI

I am also on Godfrey's tour this time - don't know where he takes you.

But downtown shopping hass a couple of blocks of many jewelry stores.

We try to avoid the ones the ships push since the prices are usually higher.

One jeweler we found that was very helpful and reasonable was Grand Jewelers. They even drove to their home/office to get a particular piece I wanted.

This might sound like I buy expensive jewelry but it wasn't that.

I really wanted a nice diamond pin and pins weren't really in at the time so they didn't have many in stock so that was why they went.

Anyhow, I think you will find many stores to suit your needs in the 2 hours with Godfrey. There are also the usual souvenier shops and lots of liquir stores downtown.
