cow-collector Posted August 2, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2019 Does anyone have Princess Patters from this year's Alaska cruises on Star? Looking forward to having a great time the first week of September!!
Fire6 Posted August 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2019 We sailed the Star the week of July 21 roundtrip to Alaska from Seattle. Here are the shows that we saw: Both production shows - "British Invasion" and a show about dance productions in plays and movies (can't remember the title). The show's were OK, but nothing spectacular. We felt that the live shows we've seen on other cruises were better. They had a magician on board (Alex Ramon) who was absolutely fantastic. We watched his intro show in the Piazza, his main stage show, and his tutorial on how to do magic tricks in one of the lounges. His shows were probably the highlight of our trip (as far as entertainment goes). We did the comedy show one night, but the comedian didn't leave much of an impression. There was also a violin and piano duet ("Constance Duo") that played occasionally in the Piazza (usually 30 minutes at a time). They were very good and we planned our day around several of their performances. There was a small rock band that also played in the Piazza, but we never seemed to catch them. There is also an Irish folk singer and a regular piano playing singer that play the lounges but we never got their early enough to get a seat. There were also a couple naturalist talks in the main theater that we missed, but they replay them on the TV in your cabin so I watched most of them while we were getting ready. The naturalist also did a very good narration as we sailed up the Tracy Fjord. The ship is beautiful and the staff are fantastic. Enjoy your cruise!
