Post cruise Luggage and Transfer

Hi

We are on the Canada & New England cruise this month and have a late flight back from JFK (10.00pm).

I know we have to be off the ship early, what options are there to store luggage and is there anything to do in New Jersey. 

The alternative is a RCB excursion for 4 hours which includes transfer back to JFK, however we would then be waiting around at the Airport for 8 hours.

Any suggestion really welcome as to how we can pass our time without our luggage, we will also have had 2 days in New York pre cruise although happy to return.
