dgould Posted October 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2019 Keep in mind that, as we found out, if a Ponant voyage is not booked directly with Ponant but is instead a group charter, Ponant will not give you credit for cruising on a Ponant ship. We found that out the hard way when our first voyage with Ponant, on Le Soleal in Alaska with passengers from Universities, was not counted by Ponant as an actual Ponant voyage, and now, instead of being credited with four voyages, with the perks which come with multiple voyages, we are credited with only three. Mind you, doesn't keep us from booking voyages with Ponant, since we love the ships and style of eco-cruising, but we are of the opinion that this policy is not exactly fair, as we were on the ship, and Ponant did eventually get our money, albeit through a third party. Just will not book a Ponant cruise if it is a charter.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted October 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2019 This is true of all cruise lines that I know of. When you book a group charter, you are the customer of the charter company – not the cruise line.
