We have been on 8 cruises so far and I was wondering how much it costs the cruise line for a day's docking. The reason I ask is that Gibraltar is one of our favourite stops-good duty-free shopping and dolphin-watch sails. Someone told me that Gibraltar docking costs $50,000 per day, which would explain why most lines spend little time there. I'm not sure that I trust the source, so can anyone share their knowledge?

 

I know it's a boring question, but at least it doesn't involve rape, murder, divorce, jeans or food!
