nitterm Posted February 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2006 Hi everyone, we are on the Sea Princess in October from NY to Quebec. In the past I've always done our own flights since they're much cheaper than what Princess charges. But we are finding that Quebec doesnt have all that many flights out on our arrival date. Anyone have any suggestions? Some people have suggested going to Montreal to fly out of.
JohnLauben Posted February 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2006 No experience here. However, I was looking into the same thing for a different cruise. Check out the Air Canada site. You need to get to either Montreal or Toronto, probably no earlier than 11:00 AM. (I believe that your cruise arrives in Quebec City the day before you disembark, so an early flight is fairly safe.) They have some decent advance purchase one-way fares on some flights there, too. http://www.aircanada.com/en/home.html
nitterm Posted February 6, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 6, 2006 JohnLauben: Thanks much! Your suggestion to contact Air Canada directly opened up the old brain box and we got great results. Went from $1300 from Princess to $710 by booking directly. Thanks again.
DanJ Posted February 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Continental also flies a few times a day from Quebec City to Newark.
Cruiseteach Posted February 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2006 You might try a commuter flight from Quebec to Bangor, Maine. All the "majors" fly out of there. It's only about a 30- 45 min flight. Can I recommend, though, that you take an extra day in Quebec? It is a lovely city, very reminiscent of Paris.
