Guest Posted January 21, 2021 #51 Share Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) I have stayed in the Holiday Inn at the port before a cruise, and it is shabby and overpriced. You pay for the view of the port (which to be fair, is amazing). I have also stayed at the Premier Inn West Quay for a week when we were house hunting down here. It is clean, modern and its next to the Carnival HQ! It is also next to Westquay which has lots of food options. The fast food options inside the shopping centre close at 7, but the restaurants on the lower outside balcony area close late. Great budget option. They have also recently opened a new Moxy hotel attached to the Premier Inn. Its slightly pricer than the Premier Inn, but with quirky decor and a nicer bar and restaurant. There is also a Novotel and an ibis just down the road that is next to a McDonalds and a TGI Fridays. Also if anyone is reading this who wanted to spend between £100-200 a night, The Harbour Hotel on the marina is gorgeous. 5* and it has a lovely bar and restaurant on the top floor with outdoor seating and heat lamps. Its perfect in the summer for having cocktails and watching ships sail out! Even if you are not staying there, its a great spot for ship spotting in luxury!
