Port of Miami to Fort Lauderdale

We are on the NOS out of Miami in Aug. We are trying to decide where to fly into. Fort Lauderdale from California seems to be cheaper than into Miami. We have booked a two night stay pre cruise at the Holiday in accross from bay side. We also would most likely be renting a car from either Airport to sight see in South Beach etc. We wanted to know if anyone could tell us what form of Transportation they might have taken from Port Miami to Ft.Lauderdale with the cost we would be looking at.Also how long does it take to get there. Is it worth the savings?

It's a short 30 minute or less ride. Last August we pre-booked alimo to take us from Miami back to Ft. Lauderdale airport. It cost about $90. Usually we rent a car at one of the airports and return it at the other. We are actually landing in West Palm on Friday and renting a car to be returned in Miami for $34. We will be on NOS this Saturday!
