jebl Posted February 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2006 A group of us are sailing the Majesty for a weekend getaway. We noticed that we will be in Nassau on Sunday. One of the girls mentioned that everything is closed on Sunday. Last few trips to Nassau I didn't get off of the ship so I don't know. Is is still that way. Have one couple who have never been to Nassau and was hoping they could do a little shopping along with their sightseeing. We are assuming the straw market will be open, but how about the other shops??
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted February 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Many stores stay closed on Sunday but quite a few, particularly those that cater just to tourists and/or are part of a chain, do open for business with shorter hours. The straw market should be open in the afternoon, after church. During my first visit to Nassau back in the 80's everything was closed on Sunday. But this has changed over time because there is money to be made! BobK/Orlando up next: Grandeur of the Seas (03/06) Dawn Princess (05/06) Norwegian Sun (05/06)
