Is Carnival paying dividends?

Carnival could pay dividends if they chose to do so - no profits required - but it isn't a wise use of money. Instead they are doing some stock buybacks/exchanges with the UK variation.

 

Carnival hasn't made changes to the program in decades, and isn't going to start now. 100 shares is within reach of people who cruise. It isn't going to change. Having thousands of shares isn't going to get you more. Historically, there are much better investment choices. That also isn't going to change.

Splitting or reverse splitting has zero to do with the value of a company. Before and after a split the company has the exact same value. If you want the rule to be own more shares just change the rules, no need to split/revers split the stock.  And Carnival would get nothing from you buying additional shares anyway.  You buy shares on the open market and not from Carnival.
