renatops Posted December 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2021 When you buy a ticket with Emirates, you are entitled to request a travel insurance, which is insured by AIG. I wonder if anyone has used it to embark in MSC in Dubai (or even in other ports), since it seems MSC has specific requirements around insurance policies. Thanks. notme2012 Posted December 29, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2021 We bought our own policy on Squaremouth.com. 2/3s of our group are flying on British Airways. So they didn't get insurance that we did from Emirates. Emirates ended that offer. I wonder how good it is, because the paperwork to get it was a pain. As far as MSC honoring it, I sincerely doubt it. MSC is also a pain to deal with...a big pain! We are using a FCC and I think they are going to cancel this cruise. We were on the MSC Opera, out of Dubai , and they canceled that cruise. It was sailing on March 20. They didn't even call our travel agent to re-accommodate us. I had to call the agent, after MSC emailed me. My point is: prepare for the worst with MSC.
renatops Posted December 29, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted December 29, 2021 And what if msc finds your insurance is not good enough, as they are all different in some way, does msc gives the option to buy theirs at the port during boarding? Thanks.
