cozgal Posted February 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2006 We enjoy evenings in the plaza...there are many wonderful places to eat...there is Mini-golf and just strolling and people watching. http://www.czmgolf.com/index.htm ( they are open but lost alot of vegetation during Wilma, still a great time!) Some of our favorites places to sit a while around the Plaza are Cafe Leza, Casa Denis,Sonora Grill and Tony Rome's...If you are there on a Sunday, there is live music in the plaza weather permitting. bruce-r Posted February 27, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Cozgal forgot to mention how safe it is in Cozumel, even after dark.
Travl Nut Posted February 27, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 27, 2006 that's good to know. i didn't even think about safety. so pretty much it is walking around and people watching in the evening. we are not much of the "party" people. but love a good meal and great atmosphere. :)
IslandJim Posted February 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2006 If you are in Cozumel in the next two days you can have the opportunity to be part of the annual mardi gras type celebration they call CARNAVAL! It is a blast and happening right now. More at the Cozumel Insider site. http://www.cozumelinsider.com/?Page=CarnavalPhotos

bruce-r Posted February 28, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2006 ... but love a good meal and great atmosphere. :)Then you will be able to find that in town, no problem. Do you need a restaurant recommendation? What would you be interested in eating?
Travl Nut Posted February 28, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted February 28, 2006 we will be on Carnival's Imagination. Our itinerary says we are there until 10:00 PM. As for food, what ever is the best place in town... that's where I want to be :p
bruce-r Posted March 1, 2006 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2006 Casa Dennis on the southeast corner of the Plaza is a good place to eat and people watch.
Frase Posted March 1, 2006 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2006 Let's not forget shopping in Cozumel. I was there Pre-Wilma. I hope that shopping in Cozumel now, is just as good as when I was there in October (pre-Wilma). If so, you can get good deals on Silverware and things made out of silver. Just make sure that the silver item is made with the standard grade of purity (.9??%). Also, since vanilla originally came from Mexico, Cozumel is a good place to get a bottle of vanilla extract. I also liked the prices on liquor, eventhough I don't drink hardly. IMHO, one of my favorite stores in Cozumel for silver things and souvenirs was "Los Cinco Soles" (The Five Suns?!?; imagine how hot our world would be). Anyway, I had a great time in Cozumel. I hope you do too, and on your cruise as well.

moonvine Posted March 1, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2006 I would recheck your itenerary...no ships are staying past 7pm local now. Have not heard of plans from the cruiselines to change that. What ship and I can tell you. Do you think this will change after the piers are re-opened? One of my favorite things about cruising is a nice long stop in Cozumel. I want to do the Sunset Snorkel...
