Priority Pass Review Getaway July 23 to July 30th

Was looking for more information on Priority Pass prior to my cruise and I thought I would pass on some info after doing it.

We left out of Port Canaveral on July 23 and had a 9am check in time which was when we got in line.  They finally got 2 people down in front of the lines waiting to check covid information at 9:30.  That's right 2 people.  When we got in the terminal which there was a line for Priority Pass very easily seen and an area roped off for Priority Boarding passengers once we got our key cards.  When they let us on the ship.  It went Haven, Special Needs, Latitudes, and then Priority Pass after which they called group 1.  We got on board quickly had no line at any of the desks or buffet.

When we got in the Cabin we had letters with all our information about Tendering the next day at Great Stirrup Cay.  We met at a certain time at the Comedy Club and were escorted to the priority elevators and down to the Tender and were on the first one to the island with Haven guests.  There was no need to get the tender pass.  Many were gone within the first hour of being on the ship.  My only gripe was would have liked an escort back to the ship from the island and got the skip the long line like the Haven guests did but alas we did not.

Canapes were delivered the second day as promise and we took one look and went yuck as we don't eat the fancy stuff like that.  Not that I don't like Caviar and finer things its just they were not to my taste.

Finally getting off the ship was a little disjointed.  Did not help we arrived late.  We were told to meet at Syd Normans where a crew member came and got the people disembarking with luggage and the pass first, but forgot to take those who had the luggage taken off first.  They did finally come back and get us and instead of the main line we were taken down the crew elevator to the gangway directly and there we merged with the rest of the standard walk off luggage people.  The night before we put out our luggage with the priority tags we were given and it was in a special area of the hall with customs.  We avoided the long line at customs by having a porter take us to an express lane for the porters.  Off the ship in about 30 mins.

Would I do it again most likely yes if we are in a Tender port and definitely it saved a lot of headache when getting off the ship.  Usually that is the part I hate the most with people pushing and shoving as lines were already formed around the ship before arrival.  I used Faster to the Fun in the past with Carnival and this is about the same.  Just depends on your tolerance to stand in line with everybody else or pay to bypass the worse of the lines.

I did actually.  Used the room service card and got the ham and cheese omelet plates which were very good and french toast plates.  We did this 3 mornings.  My wife decided to order a little of everything and overloaded the poor guy delivering.   Usual order consisted of fruit, cereals, juices, milk, french toast, omelets, and croissants for 3 people.  Was nice not to have to go up to the buffet or dining room a few mornings.   Only the 3 hot plates get the fee but we were not charged for any of the deliveries.  Did not try to order out of the book or the phone as I think it is just the room service card.

Forgot about mentioning the room service as I had a mini-club balcony and it had its own perks and they kind of meshed with the priority pass.

Thought we got in late - I just was comparing it to other cruises I have been on where the ships are back in port by 5 or 6am.   We got a rental car and stayed an extra 2 days over at Disney to avoid the mass exodus at the airport.  The only trouble we had was the Enterprise bus kept on going to the Carnival terminal and forgetting to come to ours so we waited about 60 minutes for the rental car shuttle. However we were over in Orlando by 11:00am.  Rental car was same price for one day as 3 tickets for the shuttles.  I did get a kick at the people who were trying to figure out how to get from Port Canaveral to Orlando when they got off the ship and had no transportation booked prior.
