Cabrillo beach

I will be staying at the Double tree Hilton and was wondering if a walk to Cabrillo beach is a good idea? Is it safe to so alone?looks like  like about a 15 minute walk. Is there food/ drink available? I looked up the site be could only see bring you own things.

The walk would be safe; the beach is fine to lie on (or the grass areas), but I'd never go in the water there. There is no food or drink there or close by that I am aware of. It is not a popular, well used beach.

Thank you, I am trying to find something to do for 4-5 hours when I arrive.

You could tour the USS Iowa, right next door, Uber to DT Long Beach and go to the Aquarium of the Pacific, or Shoreline Village or the Pike Outlets, or all the above.
