NYE Kids Program

It completely depends on the ship.  I’ve been on NCL for New Year’s Eve where the huge party was out on deck starting at 11:30pm and they drained all the hot tubs and filled them with sparkling wine then gave free drinks to everyone at midnight.  On another ship there was a countdown in every bar at a different hour to celebrate all the different time zones.  One time we were sailing out of New York and there were about 300 passengers who had just completed a crossing on the Queen Mary.  Because my dad was traveling on a British passport at that time we received an invitation to ring in the New Year at Greenwich Mean Time. Now that was a party!  At midnight the captain kissed me!!!  On the lips!!!!!  He didn’t even washy washy first!!

Splash Academy staff may plan something (I’ve seen pyjama parties for the kids on NYE) but on the many cruises on which I’ve been aboard for New Year’s Eve, the activities have been adult-focused with a lot of alcohol.
