For the Venetzia transatlantic crossing (May 29-June 13) there will be an inter-denominational Christian gathering from 

  10-10.45am on each At-Sea Day, 

     in the PIANO BAR, deck 5. 

All are welcome for informal fellowship and sharing together.

Is this affiliated with High Seas Ministries? We meet their founder on a Princess cruise a couple of years ago.

Was supposed to go on a B2B on the Miracle (Hawaii and Mexico).  Flew to LAX, using my passport as my photo ID (I don't have any other photo ID).  Remember seeing the passport in my hotel room the nite before the cruise.  Got to the cruise terminal in Long Beach next day, and my passport was missing.  It has disappeared from the face of the earth.

 

Was denied boarding.  Managed to fly home (in a complete state of shock - too numb to even swear or cry).  Icing on the cake . . .  Brand new suitcase being used for the first time, arrived home with 2 wheels, instead of 4.

 

(Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?)

 

Have applied for new passport, paid for expedited handling (5-7 weeks, instead of 8-11).  Fingers crossed and praying hard that it arrives in time.

I’ve heard of that good ministry, but this is not connected with them.
I’m a pastor/musician, and enjoy meeting folks during a cruise in a Christian context.
Recently did this on Princess  cruise, and many good friendships were made.

Hope you (and other transAtlantic cruisers!) can stop by and we’ll get to meet and get to know one another; should be a great 15 days.

Thanks.  I had to cancel an October Celebrity cruise because of back problems.  So I haven't been on a ship since my 8 weeks on the Carnival Pride last summer.  I'm going thru serious withdrawal!

I’m hoping and praying your new passport gets to you in time for the cruise.  My sister recently renewed hers with expedited handling and expedited return, and she received it in 4 weeks.  I hope you’re as lucky as she was!

That sounds great.  They told me 5-7 weeks.  The problem is my situation wasn't treated as a renewal.  Since I lost my previous one, I had to start over with the ton of documentation.  And one of the pieces of documentation was supposed to be an official, unexpired, photo ID.  I don't have any other photo ID; my passport was all I had.  I'm hoping they decide a stupid old lady deserves a break.

 

One piece of good news:  As expected, my travel insurance denied my claims.  But since I bought and paid for the insurance at the time of booking, Carnival will give me a 75% FCC that I can apply to a couple future cruises.  So I'm not totally out the money.

Hello-

We're going on the Venezia Oct 28 Journeys trip. I love going to the spa and look forward to hearing how Carnival outfits this one. Has Carnival listed spa options for the May 29 cruise yet with more details yet? Splendor had thalassotherapy & rasul couple's mud room treatments that I wish they'd add to every boat but I'm pretty sure neither will show up on Venezia. 

 

We're excited with over 200 days to go- I can imagine how amazing you guys' inaugural cruise will be! 😍

I don't know how to drive.  My passport always served me well as my photo ID.  Last week a friend took me to the DMV, and I applied for a non-driver's ID.  So I'll have that as a backup

I’ve been looking a train tickets from Paris to Barcelona on May 27. The prices have gone higher and higher. When I first started looking they were around $160-$180 for two….now they’re over $400. Any suggestions? We can fly on Vueling if we have too, but we’d rather take the train.

Best route if you do not want to fly...

Paris Gare de Lyon May 27th 11:43 arriving at Perpignan at 16:52. It is a direct train (the fast one...)

Perpignan (Gare routière next to the train station) Bus departing at 17:05 arriving at Barcelona (gare routière) at 18:33).

Total price 152 Euros per person.

Does anyone have a sense of how many teenagers will be on board? I suspect my daughter may get sick of hanging out with me for seven straight sea days. I know that when  I was her age, I wanted to be with my age cohort at least some of the time.
