TV on the Magica???? (Sports Addict)

I will be traveling on the Costa Magica this Sunday out of Ft. Lauderdale for the Western Carribean. I know that being on a cruise, I shouldn't worry about TV, but I need to know if they pick up a variety of stations. Mainly CBS and ESPN. Reason being, the Sunday we depart happens to be Selection Sunday w/ Tourney games to follow during that week. I'm a sports junky and need to know if I'll have any coverage........

The casino had some tv's as well and they had sports playing. I don't think the stations they carried were CBS, but I think they had ESPN or one of the many ESPN stations, it might have been one of the ESPN news stations.

You have got to be kidding.

Just because I think this board needs a little spice every once in a while here is a post that is not all fluff.

Why in the hell do some of you people think that you have a predetermined notion of what a "good time" is and what a cruise should be and then believe that everyone should abide by that. I am a college student, who has went to over 30 basketball games for my team this year. I happen to enjoy basketball, so if I can sip on a bourbon and coke and watch some March Madness basketball on my carribean cruise, I will be as happy as some of you who are engulfed in an intense game of shuffleboard or spending 2 hours in a room to learn how to say "hello" and "goodbye" in Italian. I didn't ask for criticism, I didn't ask for meaningless opinions about how you didn't pay that much money to watch TV. I asked about the TV selection in order to follow what is enjoyable to me. Granted I didn't ask anything important like which juices are on the ship, towel animals, or any of those other vital questions, but I did ask what I wanted to know.

So for you cruise elitists out there, consider this my 2 cents, and hopefully you will just remain silent or actually provide helpful information.

Sincerely,

JC

A cruise is all about having fun after all it's your vacation. You should be able to find what you're looking for on tv so I wouldn't raise the old BP.

I see you're from Marietta, we live in Locust Grove about 30 miles south of Atlanta. ;)

Go Cards,

I don't know if it was warranted but that was a very enjoyable retort. I'm not being facetious. I enjoyed reading it. Hope you get to see your game.

Cheers,

Brad

Hey Brad,

We are driving down Saturday morning. I booked hotel rooms for Saturday night so we could "rest". Plan on getting up early on Sunday to sightsee and then board. One point of interest, if you guys drive down, skip the toll roads, it seems like a straight shot but you can make better time on the interstates. My husband is a truck driver and believe me, if there are any problems he will be able to figure a way around them. The only problem I have is the bridge just south of Jacksonville, not fond of driving over bridges, so he will get me across that one and then I will finish the drive to Ft. Lauderdale. It's so much more fun to drive if you like driving and my in-laws are such a hoot anyway, I can imagine a lot of backseat driving this time, last time we make this trip was two years ago and it was just my DH and myself, really nice, but I enjoy my in-laws so I am looking forward to the trip. They will be here from Memphis in a couple of hours, so they can rest tomorrow before we set out Saturday.

Thanks for the warm wishes and I hope you have a great time too.:D

Hi Starr,

Are you flying or driving to FLL? If you drive let me know how the roads are, construction delays, etc...

Have fun on your cruise, Look forward to reading your review.

Cheers,

Brad
