Restaurant recommendations for Big Island ?

Hi ,

we are going to be staying on the big Island in a couple of weeks and are looking for some restaurants recommendations. This will be our first trip to Hawaii and we are very excited .  We want to try good local food, and we eat everything  . We aren't picky . We decided to forgo a Luau as they didn't have the best reviews .  We are renting a car  so we will be able to get around on our own.  Thank you

Where are you staying? Hawaii Island is nicknamed "The Big Island" for a reason.

Lol,  Yes we are staying at the Outrigger Royal sea cliff . We did rent a car for the week and plan on driving around the island .  TY

So in Kona, Broke Da Mouth Grindz, Umekes Fishmarket, Big Island Grill, Huggo's, Pa'akai Poke (for lunch or takeout), Kona Brewing Co. and Ka'aloa’s Super Js.

 

I think Merriman's in Waimea is the best restaurant on the island. I'd go for lunch or Sunday brunch.

 

The best experience on the island might be the beach bar at the Four Seasons Hualalai.

and at street food corner at the market there is a great Poke place
