erienetuser Posted March 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2023 I am a US citizen with Global Entry, flying from the US to Vancouver with a stop in Toronto. Can I use my GE upon arrival in Toronto? Or is it only for returning to the US? Thank you.
Z'Loth Posted March 6, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2023 Per https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry, only on arrival in the United States. However, Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) does have pre-clearance where you pass through US customs (and can use the kiosk) prior to boarding your flight. Also, TSA Pre-Check privs.
scottbee Posted March 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2023 No, Global Entry is only for entry to the United States. You will not be able to use it in Canada at either Immigration (you can use NEXUS if you have it), nor will you be able to use it at CATSA/ACSTA security checkpoints in Canada to get expedited security scanning. However , if you're flying back to the US, and doing so from a Canadian airport, the US immigration pre-clearance will accept it.

We disembark in Vancouver and are flying home to the U.S. We both have Global Entry and are hoping that will help us navigate U.S. CBP quickly. Going TO the USA, absolutely - all the airports with preclearance have dedicated queues for both Security and CBP processing you can use with GE. If it's an RT cruise, you just won't be able to use the short queue on the way into Canada, only NEXUS works both ways among the 'regular Joe' TT programs.

We are going to the US so hopefully it will go smoothly.

As long as you bring your physical card with you, it should (TSA Pre status prints on boarding passes so as I understand it you almost never need to show the card to anyone in the US, but there's no TSA here and the CATSA folks working the security queue up here don't have access to scan passports at point of entry, so you need to show your card to get in that line).
