Private Tour recommendation - St. Thomas

Hi folks! Looking to get some recommendations for private tours in St. Thomas. We'll be there for the day (7:45am - 3:45pm) in August and hoped to find someone to take us around to a few different beaches/snorkel spots and maybe show the kids a bit of the island, etc. Was very interested in Sunfari Tours but their pricing for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids ages 9, 6, & 6) was over around $850 for the day.  With gratuity, that would put us over $1K for the day. I'm sure they are wonderful and offer a great day but that pricing is just cost prohibitive for our family.   Wondering if anyone might be able to recommend something a bit more family friendly, budget-wise? Definitely willing to spend some money but have a hard time justifying spending over $1K for 6 or so hours. Or perhaps using the taxis are the way to go? We love St. Thomas and can't wait to show our children this beautiful island and its culture, and just want to figure out the best way to do so.  Thank you in advance for any and all recommendations!!!
