you absolutely do, that's why it works.....park entry, pay for things, use lightning lanes, register photopasses, access your room....

 

on the cruise ship...your room door, drink packages, can you pay for actual things with it?  But when you get off the ship for a few hours, its more or less obsolete for those things....
