Embarkation and pre-cruise in Athens, Greece

We flew to Athens and stayed 2- nights pre-cruise. Our first time in Athens and surprised to find that we liked it. Here are some things that I wished to know before going - sharing it to someone else who could use it. 

 

Firstly the arrival into Athens International airport and going with the metro to the city center.

My first time visiting Athens I find the neighbourhoods to be most interesting : and truly worth exploring if you are there.  Here are some interesting ones. Plaka and Anafiotika. Check it out and decide if you want to include them in your pre or post cruise visit.

Psiri is a nice neighbourhood for an early morning walk when its not crowded.

Thank you for this, the neighborhood is only a mile from where we are staying.

Thank you as I would never have known and we are only going to be in Athens 24 hours.

We ate at 2 places in the Psiri area : Atlantikos and Krasopoulio Tou Kokkora (right behind the Little Kook) and were happy with both. Read about both in my pre-cruise post 1 and 2.
