WELCOME to the Venezia cruise! Upon boarding and settling in, who is going to go directly to  the sports bar and participate in Super Bowl festivities?  My DH is already smiling!  We will be celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. I was so surprised when I realized we will  be Valentine's Day on a sea day. How romantic is that?!

This is  the first time DH and I have sailed on Carnival. We are in love with the  Venezia and can't wait to call her our own, even for a short time! It seems as if this cruise will be filled with passengers who share the same idea🥰 A unique and wonderful gathering of people who love/enjoy cruising and the opportunity to sail on a beautiful ship!

Sixteen months is waaay ahead of time, but a lot of thought went into choice of cabin, etc.So please, I invite all to  come and visit, say hi 😁

Sailing into the week of Thanksgiving- USA. DH has taken off from work Wednesday. I am grateful  since he will need to put the lights, tree and help me clean. Although we will not be home for  Christmas, pet sitters will be! So it seems like I have to take a hard look at the I don't know how old 2nd hand tree and decorations.Although the broken animation on the polar bears were fine for us,,, fixing is necessary. And I  am  sure the list will become longer.😃Outside- front yard looks like a dust bowl. The wind, harsh sun, cold weather and my inability to take care of everything=dust bowl.😂 🤣

Good news-two year old new to us puppy is now house broken, the cat and dog love playing with each other,  and we have no fleas!

So I am  setting up  a chair by the fireplace- Visitors are most Welcome

Thoroughly enjoying all the threads about the Venezia.

This will be the first Carnival cruise for us.

The first year Venezia will be sailing out of  Miami.

Miami where it is a bit warmer......

Back to  reality-Cleaning up from Turkey Day.

Enjoy

Hello,

Using this as an opportunity  for a distraction bc I have so much to  do!

DH and I have being cruising with RC, Celebrity, Princess, Polar Express(Antarctica) and Carnival since 2006. We discovered Cruise Critic in 2009 and had 5 people attend the Meet & Greet hosted by the cruise line. Food, wine and awesome view. Everyone was meeting each other  in person, for the first time. All were computer users. The Cruise director had a raffle, and I had little gifts for  the travelers.

Before the  cruise, this venue was used to talk, say hi, share plans, information, worries  As the  cruising date neared, this venue became a place to organize meeting in person, doing stuff  before, on and off the ship. It used to  be really fun being able to post a Count Down Clock-   sparkly fonts and icons!  Not supported anymore. It was amazing at the creativity people had!

DH and I lived  close to  two ports in Ca. and took advantage of the awesome short  cruises that would leave on Friday and return with enough time to  get to  work on Monday. That was enough to  get us hooked and we have been vacationing on the water ever since.

Please stop by  for  a visit and if you wish- please share your first cruise, best cruise, or ......

Enjoy

Hip Hip HooRay!

Our friend Paul has just booked his first ever cruise with  Princess. DH has been doing research  and providing guidance. It is all I can do to keep him from joining Paul! If Paul enjoys this experience (solo) he plans to  book a trip  to Alaska.

We are so  excited🥰

Happy Saturday morning!

DH emailed this message:

"Another price increase of 4% today.  When we booked, it was $1949 per person for a suite.  Today $2379 per person." Third increase since the day we booked in October.

I wonder how much everyone will have ended up saving by the time we sail... 😁

Nine more days before Christmas. Wishing safe travels to all that have plans. Wishing many smiles and happiness along the  way.

Good Morning! Less than a year to go before we get onboard the Venezia. The board being a quiet place- nothing new since 2006 (for me anyway). I am sad the computer programs that allowed animation, publishing tools and pizzazz at my finger tips has been discontinued. Having access to  Excel, Windows and other programs allowed people to have a creative explosion😁

I am not complaining. Just noticing that there have been major changes in how  I interact on line.

It used to be that I book a cruise and post here to  start the  Roll Call. Yep, I would be alone for a time and then one person would come and visit, sporadically. That  would be all to make me happy. Closer to the date of sailing, sign-ups for  dinner before boarding, independent hosting meet and mingle sign-up, bar/ casino run, cabin crawl and many  surprises were planned. Sounds kinda old fashioned in print. But it was actually  fun. The group that became part of the roll call was always small and were computer savvy. The groups became larger on the ship bc activities were on the bulletin board and DH and I put reminders on cabin phones.

Since the last time I began a Roll Call, there has been explosion of everybody having cell phone(mini computers), FB , and You Tube... The freedom of reading forums from different sailings  on CC has transferred over. I have been able to  enjoy the Venezia sailing from New York Harbor and enjoy the multitude of photos of Ducks, Hearts, happy, tired people on vacation, from my home- waaay before I leave from Port Canaveral. And see that a recent sailing has over 1.5k people. Can't imagine such a Meet and Mingle🤣

Enjoy
