Hi All,

I have a question in regards to Carnival Spirt cruise from Hawaii to Vancover.

We are going next year, and I am wondering if carnival few you in the day before from the east coast like they do for those form the west coast to the east coast?? if not, about what time do you arrive in Hawaii from the east coast?? We are trying to decide whether to take carnival air (if day early) or our own air package. we want to arrive a day early (for lots of reasons) but would feel more comfortable with carnival air incase of problems getting to Vancover.

DH & I did this cruise in '99 and loved every minute of it, except for the day we sailed. We flew Carnival air from the East Coast to Honolulu and sailed the same day. Big mistake! We were so exhausted after we boarded that we slept through the Muster drill! Asked someone the next day when it would be and was told that it had been the day before. Glad we had cruised before and knew what to do in case of an emergency.

It was on the Jubilee at that time. It was a wonderful trip. We rented a car in each port and saw pretty much everything we wanted to. The rental was about the same cost as one shore excursion thru CCL. I highly reccommend it.

Ask Carnival rep about flying in a day early. If that isn't possible, I would make my own reservations. Good luck! You will love it. :D

WE are doing the crusie this April. Arriving Tuesday before the cruise in Honolulu. Doing the Polunesian Adventure Center on Wednesday, and the North Shore on Thursday. Pn Friday and Saturday the day we go on the ship doing Pearl Harbour, Diamond Head, etc. We are renting a car when we get there.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunetly Carnival doesn't do an Overnight or Dayroom deal like for Caribbean Cruises. I did find when we did this sailing in 2003 that it was cheaper to use Carnival's Air since 2 one-way's (LAX to Honolulu followed by Seattle to LAX) cost a lot more doing it on my own, even with doing a Air Deviation through Carnival where I did a pre-stay in Honolulu and a post stay in Victoria & Seattle. Ask Carnival for their rate (did you guys know that now the PVP's and CVS's (Carnival Vacation Specialist) can quote air just like any travel agent) then find out Carnival's current rate for Air Deviations (you choose dates and flights) then compare with doing it on your own.........only way to really decide. Having Carnival do it all in 2003 saved me about 8$800.00 on 3 people flying.

Thanks for the information. we are to far out to get a good price quote, but I will check on what carnaval has to offer. I am using a group TA for the cruise so I need to go through them for the Carnival pricing.

Thanks again

Bill
