Select dining on Apex - table size ?

Many years since I’ve been on a cruise, ideally would have booked the anytime dining but that was fully booked so opted for late select dining. Am travelling as a group of 3 and we like to have our own table for dinner - are you automatically assigned to a table size corresponding to your party size ? Or could you be assigned a shared table ? if so can you get this changed ?

Looks like multiple ‘no pay’ restaurants do you rotate around these to experience the different cuisines ?
