I've never used it. On those occasions when being escorted by the butler, I felt the disapproving looks from the other passengers were justified. However that's just me. You paid for the perk and if you want to take advantage of it, that's certainly your choice. I'll pass. It's honestly hard to say since the elevators were generally so non-functional regardless of the override, but anecdotally I don't feel like it disadvantaged much of anyone. Each elevator bank had 6 cars and there were 2 banks in each section of the ship, plus the panoramic elevator. I never saw more than a few groups waiting at once and the elevators moved quickly enough I don't think a working override would have meaningfully changed that. As for the butler, I agree the dirty looks were warranted and I only took advantage of the escort once because I found the process so uncomfortable and inconsiderate. As I think I mentioned, NCL does this in a manner that does not impact other guests at all by using the crew elevators and gangway, which I think is a much better system for everyone involved. Similarly, embarkation is handled by allowing Haven guests to embark early and use a separate express line to get through security and check in, but there is no budging past other passengers, even if you arrive after priority boarding has ended. Again, I find this preferable to MSC's shoving past others which isn't a comfortable experience for other guests or the YC passengers. If I sail YC again, I'm likely to join the line rather than take the escort to the front. With the early boarding time YC gets you, the line is so short it doesn't matter anyway.
