Port Canaveral Terminal 1 rant

Having just come off of Wonder of the Seas as a first time cruiser from Port Canaveral, I need to express my opinion (rant) on this terminal. After parking our car in the huge garage, I looked around for a sign that indicated what floor we were on and failing that what section we were in. We asked several others and nobody could find any signs. We ended up taking a picture of our general location from the elevator so we would remember in 7 days where we parked. At $17.00 per day you might think they could invest in some professional signs or at least a bucket of paint.

Disembarkation from just after getting our luggage through getting to our car was a very unpleasant experience. Due to the amount of passengers exiting the terminal, we were herded like a flock of sheep through passport control and out the doors. Fortunately this port uses facial recognition technology so you only have to stop for 5 seconds or so for your face to be scanned. Once outside the doors, passengers are herded again by screaming port employees yelling to keep moving, don't stop, go all the way to the end. Forget about stopping to read a sign for directions, as that will cause an employee to scream at you personally to keep moving. I saw a couple with 3 or 4 bags stop on the right side of the path, well out of the moving throng of people. I guess he needed to find the men's room, so she waited for him there. As soon as he disappeared, she was accosted by a screamer and told she was on the wrong side and to move to the left side. She looked at the guy and said "I'm one little person, how shall I move these bags by myself through all these people? My husband will be right back." That was apparently unacceptable to him as he started to move toward her yelling all the while that she was on the wrong side.  He and I helped her move the bags through the moving throng of people over to the left side. At that point, the husband came back and of course she wasn't where he left her. She saw him and waved and then the same screamer started yelling that he was on the wrong side and then he had to manage how to get through a moving stream of people 4 or 5 deep which he finally did. Since there are only 2 elevators that we saw to get to the parking garage, we had a few minutes wait to get on one of them. While we stood there waiting we talked about the ridiculous way they conducted the disembarkation and we all agreed that there had to be a better way.

Sounds like they need better signage for sure.  Pretty sure it's a legal requirement for the elevator door frame to have the floor number shown (and also in braille), so if all else fails look there.
