Tour Tips - Good Rule of Thumb

We haven't taken many tours.  Those we have, we asked the others with us at the end of the tour.    But, I'd like a rule of thumb.   Like using a percentage in a restaurant.

In case it matters, we are doing an independent tour to Chacchoben Ruins for 3.5 hours and $320 for 4 people.   This isn't a private tour.

Tour operator: Chac Ek Costa Maya

I think it's a bit hard to put a % heuristic on what tip to pay for tours.  You should tip both the driver and the guide but depends on how well you enjoyed the tour and how attentive both driver and guide were.

That said, my overly generous DW usually tips the driver $10 and the guide $20 regardless of time or length but will add $5-$10 if over the top or they go out of their way to assist.
