BilBao, Spain -San Juan Monastery Excursion

Has anyone made a trip to the San Juan Monastery on their own? The ship's excursion seems high priced for this.

According to this page, a taxi from Getxo (Bilbao pier) and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe should cost 65 euro

If you want to save, it is enough to go out of the pier and get the underground in opposite direction to Bibao. Last station is Plentzia. It is quite easy to arrive last station and you have saved 1/3 of journey
