cacky Posted March 25, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2006 We have never been to Europe before. I have been told that the best way to exchange currency is to use your credit card or a debit card with a pin number in the ATM machines, expecially good for places that accept the euro. Also I have been told that many places in Europe don't take Travelers Cheques, and many places take VISA/Mastercard. Any comments on this?
lougee1043 Posted March 25, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2006 debit card is the best way to get cash in the form of local currency--imo travelers checks should be carried for emergency purposes only -- whoever cashes them for you will beat you up on the exchange rate
