Kamfish642 Posted May 14 #1 Share Posted May 14 Apparently, after December 31, 2024, will require an American citizen traveling to South Korea will need to apply online, in advance of cruise, for a tourist visa using the Korean Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA). Doesn't appear to be any tourist visa requirements for US citizens visiting Japan with a valid passport. Does this sound correct?
shecritic Posted May 15 #2 Share Posted May 15 After reviewing the entry requirements for South Korea on the CIBTvisas site here - https://cibtvisas.com/blog/south-korea-entry-requirements - it looks like you've got the key details right. Once the travel year promotion ends in Dec 2024, US citizens will need to obtain a K-ETA approval online in advance of travel for short-term tourist visits. Good news is it's a fairly simple online process. And you're correct that Japan doesn't require tourist visas for US passport holders.
