Partial Panama Canal transit with booked excursion

Hi All,

We are booked onto the March 17th 2025 cruise onboard the Celebrity Beyond. The itinerary includes a partial transit of the Panama Canal. Does anyone know how the logistics work if you are also booked onto an excursion? When do you leave the ship to head off on the excursion, before or after the ship's transit through the locks into the Gatun lake? I'm a bit concerned that we will have to leave the ship before it enters the canal thereby missing the experience of actually being onboard as it goes through the locks. We're booked onto the Gatun Lake, Agua Clara locks and Embera village tour that supposedly takes 6 hours.

TIA, Ash

You will not disembark the ship for your shore excursion until after the ship locks up Agua Clara Locks and reaches Gatun Lake.  During the time you are on your excursion the ship will lock back down Agua Clara Locks and proceed to Colon which is where you will rejoin the ship.
