Rare pierces Posted May 28 #1 Share Posted May 28 Pictures taken between Monday, May 27 and Sunday, June 2. Hello June! Can I take your picture and share it with my friends on Cruise Critic Photo Boards? Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!
Oakman58 Posted June 1 #2 Share Posted June 1 There was a hawk on the roof of a house down the block from us that was being harassed by a mockingbird. By the time I had my camera in hand I was only able to get two quick shots of the hawk before he flew off. You can see the meal in his talons.
Rare pierces Posted June 3 Author #3 Share Posted June 3 Saturday was a party day. Hailee and Savannah are four years apart, so the party was to celebrate them graduating from college and high school respectively. They requested a fiesta, so we had carne asada, chicken fajitas, enchiladas and fiesta-themed beverages for those on either side of 21 years old. It was a larger than average gathering but the kids chipped in and spared Kim from a lot of the work. As I was wandering from group to group making sure everyone has what they needed, I noticed each of the three sitting on the swing was a child of a different one of our three children. I love numbers and patterns but what compelled me to take this week’s photo was the fact that they were just so darned cute sitting there being cousins. zackiedawg Posted June 18 #4 Share Posted June 18 Been on vacation last week and playing catch-up at work this past week, so just getting around to posting photos again, starting back on this June 1 weekend day out at the wetlands... Black-necked stilt mother on lookout while her chicks fed nearby: One of those cute fuzzball stilt chicks: A male least bittern very close - just 6 feet away from me: Anhinga fanning out to dry its wings: Mom moorhen feeding her two chicks: Red-winged blackbird mom feeding her hungry new hatchling: Pied-billed grebe mom feeding HER little chick (sensing a theme this week?): This time, it's a young chick who is the meal, for this red-shouldered hawk - attempting to fly off with a moorhen chick but finding it a little too heavy - the hawk barely cleared the water and crashed down after about 20 feet, unable to lift it again: Atala butterfly:
