Tuggers -you're correct. the cruiselines don't care. they don't have to.

 

Carnival and RCI own most of the ships out there. If one doesn't want to do business with them, the choices are few. What we have here is approaching a monopoly.

 

Until consumer protection laws are passed, the cruiselines will get away with whatever they can. Sad but true.

 

Tuggers and zaandam, You've hit the nail right on the head. They simply don't care, don't have to care and will never have any loyalty to us cruisers. RCI made over $700million in profit last year and that's what they care about.

They can well afford to ignore any complaints.

well thats true MMP....but aren't the members of this board the "cream of the crop"? ;)

 

No they aren't. The posters on these boards love cruising enough to visit a forum about it - 99% of cruise passengers don't do that. You would get extremely inaccurate results from the people on this board then you would get from the average cruise ship passengers.

funny Morebeaches!!! Personally, When I have a problem I try to pursue it directly with the cruise line. Thankfully our cruises have been uneventful . I will say that I have gotten a response to all the snail mail I have sent...most of the responses have been satisfactory.

it is very true we are a minority in relation to the total number of cruisers. but we are a vocal (sometimes VERY vocal) minority. I lurked here for a long time, gleaning information before I was ever compelled to post.

 

a lot of people only cruise once in their lifetimes. my 1st cruise was taking my parent for a xmas present. i was hooked, they didn't care for it.

 

some of us are the fortunate few with a love of cruising and the means to enduldge our passions. i'm just glad we have an forum to share information. i have based my cruise plan things i've learned here.
