JFHNewbe Posted April 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2006 This will be my first cruise. After much research, we decided on the Windstar 5/13 Rome - Athens excursion. I'm a diver and was wondering about the details on this excursion. Are they even offering diving on this leg? If so, what gear should I bring. Thanks in advance. duct tape Posted April 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2006 We will be on that cruise too. If I were you I would bring a wetsuit...water will be chilly!
rickcohen2 Posted April 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2006 I thought I had read/heard that they don't dive at all in the med because it is too cold when the boats are positioned there. Call them. Let us know.
gymswim Posted April 25, 2006 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2006 I've done two or three cruises in the Med (Lisbon to Barcelona, Venice to Athens, and Bacelona to Athens on Windstar and I have to say about all it did was satisfy my diving addiction to get under water. In my opinion there is very little of interest to see and if you're used to Tahiti and the Carribean, you'll find it *very* cold, and you'll definately want a wet suit. Windstar ships offer a variety of other wonderful sports activities from the sports platform and they'll offer diving if you still want to go. In my opinion, you needn't lug your gear for the few chances you'll get and you can just use theres. Bill
